Viveiros Río Tollo, located in Goián (Tomiño), wants to collaborate actively with the economic and social development of the Baixo Miño region. For this reason, for some years the nursery has collaborated with the Confederación Galega de Persoas con Discapacidade, Cogami, and with Activa Social to incorporate new workers into its workforce. This collaboration is carried out through the Incorpora program of ‘la Caixa’, a labor intermediation program that combines in an optimal way the needs of the social and business fabric to guarantee the success in the labor integration.

In a sector in which 90% of jobs are held by women, the two new additions to the staff of Viveiros Río Tollo this year through this program also have a female name: Carmela Domínguez and María Ángeles Martínez.

Carmela is the most veteran, has been in the nursery since February and looks forward every day to her job. “I like work, I have adapted well, I am comfortable and very happy with my colleagues. Little by little I am learning the different aspects of the work, from cutting, fertilizing, transplanting … “, explains Carmela, for whom the hardest thing so far has not been adaptation or work, but climatology. “The rain does not matter, you get covered, but the cold in your hands …”, he acknowledges.

At this moment Viveiros Río Tollo has around 60 workers, some of them former employees of the Incorpora program.
